Official Launch of the Franklin Makerspace
11/8/2024 8:58 am
We are thrilled to announce the official launch of the Franklin Makerspace—a dynamic, creative hub designed to inspire and engage our students in hands-on, innovative learning experiences! The Makerspace is a testament to our commitment to fostering creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration among our young learners.
What’s Happening in the Makerspace?
Since its soft opening, five classrooms have already had the opportunity to explore and create in this vibrant space. The students have been involved in a variety of exciting projects, including:
- Haunted House Building Challenge: Students tapped into their spooky creativity to design and construct their own haunted houses.
- STEM Challenge: Pumpkin Catapults: This fun activity allowed students to apply principles of physics and engineering to launch pumpkins with their homemade catapults.
- Calm Down Jars: A mindfulness project where students created calming sensory jars, helping them understand and manage their emotions.
Join Us in Making the Makerspace Even Better!
We believe that the success of our Makerspace lies in the active participation and support of our wonderful parent community. We are calling on parents to volunteer, share their expertise, and contribute resources to enrich the Makerspace experience. If you have ideas, materials, or time to volunteer, we would love to hear from you!
